VCF Academy remain unbeaten in Al Abtal International Cup with win over Almeria UD

An Izan last gasp strike earned VCF Juvenil B the win in high-scoring game (3-2).

VCF Juvenil B kept giving a competitive showing as they showed yet again on Monday with a last gasp win over UD Almería U19 on matchday 2 of the Al Abtal International Cup, an international Under-19s tournament promoted by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sports.

José Luis Bravo’s side claimed a 3-2 win over Almería UD U19. The game became a frantic game towards the end with two extra time goals. Yarek opened the scoring for Valencia CF Juvenil B in the first half and both sides traded blows on the half-hour mark. Almería UD equalised on 63 minutes and Mario Domíguez, put VCF Juvenil B back in front.

The goalkeeper got in on the act to score for UD Almería in the closing stages but Izan sealed the win with the last kick of the game to complete the scoreline much to the delight of his teammates.

The VCF Academy's involvement in the Al Abtal International Cup will continue over the coming weeks. They will play Saudi Future Falcons Green in Group D, which also includes Saudi Future Falcons White and UD Almería. The tournament features Under-19s sides representing FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Zaragoza, amongst other clubs.
